Verismo® 600 Brewer Burgundy
Starbucks store at home!
I like many of you, read a great number of reviews prior to deciding to purchase my machine. I was somewhat hesitant because there were just enough semi-negative reviews to make me cautious. Then I remembered that it's Starbucks, and if I have an issue they will make it right. They stand behind their products, so I decided to purchase it. For all of those who said they have issues out of the box, or it's noisy, or whatever else, you must not be using a Starbucks machine, that or you didn't read the directions.
I have yet to have an issue, and I've had this product for 3 months now. It's wonderful. The sound, well, ya know, it sounds like a coffee machine. Oh wait, that's what it is. It is no more noisy than a coffee machine should be, and far less noisy than any Starbucks store with a dozen patrons. Flavor wise, SPOT ON! I am able to make drinks identical to the store. Specifically, my spouse and I enjoy the White Chocolate Mocha and Caramel Macchiato, respectively. We still enjoy going to the our local Starbucks for the experience, but this is very convenient and quick.
Setup was as synch out of the box. I read the directions, removed the protective wrapping, and rinsed the machine per instructions. From there, it was all espresso (sadly it doesn't make cake). I have not had any issues with my mugs. The two tier support for cups holds my entire range of dishes, and I have a lot. I have small cups which are perfect for espresso or coffee, and large tumblers for making doubles.
It also has a neat feature that allows you to adjust the size of drink that it makes. By this I mean the "pre-programmed" buttons that make espresso or coffee are designed to dispense a certain amount of liquid. The user can adjust that, which is awesome! Also, you can do partials with the hot water. I have a large mug (and yes it fits) that I use for hot chocolate. I have an awesome homemade hot chocolate recipe that I use. So, I put a few scoops of my hot chocolate powder in my large mug, and press the hot water button (which I already increased to dispense more hot water than factory default). Then, I press it again and let it dispense more to fill my mug a little further. It's not quite large enough for two full hot water dispenses (~+14oz), so I wait until it gets near the top and press the button a third time which stops the hot water and prevents it form over flowing.
In all fairness, I have had a singular issue, which in the grand scheme of things is irrelevant. Immediately after setting up my machine I wanted to register it. Makes sense, right? I was unable to use the online service to register it. I had to contact Starbucks to get it registered. It took them a few minutes, but they were cordial and apologetic. I guess some shipped prior to having some number processed in their system that enabled them to automatically recognize the serial number for registration purposes.
In all, if you like Starbucks but want the convenience of a quick easy store quality drink in your home, get this machine. Read the directions, and I highly doubt you'll have any issues.

Comparable to my $2000 expresso machine!
my husband got this to use it in his office. I didn't really pay much attention to any single brew machines with capsules since I thought that is such a waste of money and the coffee never come out as good as my expresso machine. Well, in this case...I have to admit that I am wrong! This machine is different from the k-cup machines, which basically produces single-serve drip coffee. Verismo uses pressure to brew true expresso that tastes as good as my expensive professional expresso machine! I am sold. It's an affordable way of enjoying quality expresso. Everyone in my family is getting this great brewer for Christmas!

Didn't work out of box
Took out of box and followed set up instructions but to no avail. Didn't work and had to send it back. Haven't heard anything as to what to expect next.

First, the taste of the latte produced by this machine is outstanding. However, the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that the milk brewing setting simply is not hot enough. Also, I'm not sure it was worth the extra $$ to get a rinse button and a hot water button since they both seem redundant to me, but that may just be me. Sadly, I am returning this product and ordering the 583. Hopefully that will make a difference.
