Lattes at Home I love Starbucks and I love this machine. Two pushes of buttons and I have my own latte - which tastes just like the ones at Starbucks. And if you want to get fancy, you can purchase the syrups and caramels and make any of their signature drinks. Best purchase ever. November 25, 2012
Pretty Good The Verismo is my 3rd single cup brewer and an addition to my Starbucks semi-automatic espresso machine purchased in 2002. It arrived well packed and took me less than 5 minutes to be up and brewing. I was a little concerned about what the milk pods would taste like so I was anxious to try the cafe latte sample pack that came with it. I was more than pleasantly surprised. The milk pods were great. The espresso brewed well. I must say that the brewing temperature is a little low though for brewing a proper shot of espresso, however brewing it into a shot glass you can see the different layers that comprise a good shot of espresso, with a good layer of crema on the top. That is surprising giving the lower brew temp and the fact that it's only a 19 bar machine. Overall I am very satisfied and it exceeded my expectations. The price to brew a double shot latte comes in just under what you would pay for the same thing in a store. That makes it the most expensive single cup brewer to use on the market, but the quality is well worth it and keeps me from having to get into the mess of my semi-automatic machine. The price of the pods, and the lower brew temp are the only reasons this machine didn't get a 5 star rating from me. October 3, 2012
I like it! We bought a Verismo just after Christmas, and liked it so much I bought one for my office. Basically, this is a simple pump brewer that is less costly than most pump espresso makers, but still makes good espresso and coffee. It uses Verismo pods, available at Starbucks. I understand that Kfee pods will also work, but my search online found similar or higher prices. So far, only a few types of coffee are available in Verismo pods. I look forward to someone developing recyclable pods that you can reload with your preferred coffee, and that don't create more trash for the landfill. Starbucks could lead the way here and be environmentally responsible as it has been in some other areas. January 27, 2015
Great Machine! This is my first Verismo. I live it since it is very easy to use and maintain. Currently going through with the ibcluded pods and really live making a caffe latte. Will be experimenting with other recepies. Having a removable water tank is great to easilly top it of with water. Ut easilly heats water and for a good cup o joe. Not having to throw the pods right after use is a nice feature. A great way to start the day! December 16, 2014
Problems I bought two of these machines, one for home and one for the office. I have had problems with both of them. I brought both back to starbucks and exchanged them and now one of the units is still problematic. Every now and then the units blow the bottoms out of the pods and fills your cup with a messy mixture of grounds and water. I have had it happen with different pods, doesn't seem to matter what coffee you are trying to brew. The pressure will suddenly just pop and the pod bottom blows out. I don't think I will bother to bring it back a third time. November 14, 2014

Defective product

By Pmammon

from Oklahoma

Comments about Verismo® 580 Brewer Burgundy:

This product was bought to replace the same model from Starbucks after less than two years
The new coffeemaker made a loud sound and quit working. I am accepting a replacement. I hope this one works better.
You should test these in china before they are shipped.

A Great Coffee maker

By Reik36

from Westlake Village, CA, USA

Comments about Verismo® 580 Brewer Burgundy:

When I opened the box, I was very happy with the burgundy color. It matched perfectly in my kitchen. Made one espresso with a milk pod. Tasted good and was so easy to do. Look forward to buying more flavors. I'm glad I finally purchased it.

better than the first one, and the first one was wonderful

By Starshine49

Comments about Verismo® 580 Brewer Burgundy:

Ordered because after 18 months,my other one quit working&started leaking out the bottom. New one had instructions for products to clean monthly and decalcify every 3 months, Maybe this one will last longer, because I am totally ruined for any other kind of coffee and don't know of any other coffee maker that makes brewed coffee taste this good.

Forget the others, Verismo 580 is better!

By LatteLady10

from Minnesota

Comments about Verismo® 580 Brewer Burgundy:

I received the 580 as a birthday gift and have fallen in love with it! Within 10 minutes I was brewing lattes.

Pros:
*Bin for catching used cups
*Built in cleaning settings
*Compact size
*Affordable price
*Easy to use
*Unlimited drink combinations

Cons:
*Cups pricey (still cheaper than buying a latte in the store!)
*Must rinse upon turning machine on (not really a con but is annoying if you forget you have to do this)

It was difficult to come up with Cons for this machine! I will never buy another one cup brewer again.

Good temperature, rinse cycle is a bit confusing.

By DaveL

from Los Angeles, CA

Comments about Verismo® 580 Brewer Burgundy:

First off, I bought this for my office. So my coworkers aren't all going to read the manual. It would be nice if it automatically rinsed and ejected the pod when the machine is about to turn off, so it doesn't do it each time when the machine turns on.

The temperature of the water it brews is nice. It got very hot and steamy, what I like to see for espresso.

Comments about Verismo® 580 Brewer Burgundy:

I am in LOVE with this machine.. I never have to go to Starbucks again. This machine is excatly what I needed in my life. It is a little noisy, but it can make me an espresso drink in under a minute. That is amazing. I highly reccomend this machine and that you use it with spring/filtered water. Best coffee invention yet!! Two thumbs up for Starbucks!!!!

Great Alternative to Actually Going to Starbucks Everyday

By kreed4

from Franklin, TN, USA

Comments about Verismo® 580 Brewer Burgundy:

I've been using my Verismo for the last week or two now and I've been pretty happy with the results even with its quirks. This is after all my first foray into a single cup brew system so there are some things to get use to. I would say that the only grip I have is that it doesn't get the coffee hot enough for me and there's no way for me to manually increase the temperature. Granted I add cold half and half to my coffee, but one would think that you wouldn't have to turn around and put your coffee in the microwave for 20 seconds after you just poured your cup.
