Tazo® Zen™ Full Leaf Tea

My Starbucks Rewards
1 Star
Subscription Item:
15 piece
A harmonious blend of green tea with lemongrass & spearmint.
Availability:  This item is not available.
Find your inner green, then play at least nine holes.

Through the screened front door, zingy lemongrass and spritely spearmint coax contemplative pan-fired green teas to come play. Calmly, lemon verbena opens the door and invites them all to a cup of tea.

Green Tea

The liquor of a green tea is typically a green or yellow color, and flavors range from toasty, grassy (pan-fired teas) to fresh and streamed greens (steamed teas) with mild astringency.

Did You Know?

Zen is a school of Mahāyāna Buddhism that teaches meditation and direct experience as the path to wisdom and enlightenment.

Tasting Notes Earthy, lemony, minty, sweet.

For Best Brewing

  1. Bring fresh, filtered water to a boil at 175F (80c) and allow to cool slightly.
  2. Pour 8 fl oz (236 ml) of water over the sachet in your cup.
  3. Let it steep for 3 minutes. Wait patiently for perfection.

Please, please do not take this away

By ZenTeaLover

So disappointed that Starbuck has turned out to be all about fostering brands they acquire and taking away the fantastic full-leaf Tazo teas.

These teas are incredible and Starbucks is the only source of the full-leaf tins. I spent over $250 last holidays buying tins as gifts for family, friends and for personal use.

Joy is great, but Zen is the best of all. Hot, cold or lukewarm, it is, and always was, what Starbucks was about for me. I have purchased at least a thousand cups of this tea and am so saddened that it will no longer be an option for long-time customers.

Loved this tea. Sad to see it go.

While it's disappointing to see the discontinuation of Tazo full-leaf tins, Zen was my all-time favorite full-leaf tea. As a loyal customer I feel hung out to dry - I know they want to roll in their Teavana acquisition, but these tea brands don't need to be mutually exclusive. Why not allow the customer more options?

Beyond being my personal favorite, it was a great selection for introducing others to green teas, as the lemongrass/mint eased off some of the bitter bite you might otherwise get from a pure green. And as someone else here has said, it was a flavor that even benefited from prolonged steeping.

For me, full-leaf Tazo Zen was as good as it gets.

I'm still seeing the brand's non-premium (normal teabag, non-full leaf) version carried in grocery stores; I hope they don't phase that one out as well.

This is my favorite tea and I am so bummed that it is no longer available. Please bring it back to the stores! It tastes a lot cleaner and fresher than the filterbag tea.

Here's the wonderful thing about Zen: most green teas become bitter if you let them steep past several minutes. Not with Zen. It just gets better. Was terribly disappointed to find that Starbucks is replacing these teas in the stores with Teavana teas. While some of them are lovely, you can't beat Zen. Please don't lose this staple to on line sales only. BRING IT BACK TO THE STORES!!!! WHY CAN'T YOU HAVE BOTH? Tea doesn't take up that much space and this is worth keeping!

Green Tea

By Bethie

from Alexandria,VA

I sent the green tea as a birthday gift. I was a little unsure because of the addition of lemongrass and spearmint in the tea but she loved the tea. She commented specifically on the box that the gift was sent in how beautiful it was!!
