For Best Brewing

  1. Bring fresh, filtered water to a boil at 212F (100c).
  2. Pour 8 fl oz (236 ml) of water over the filterbag in your cup.
  3. Let it steep for 5 minutes. Wait patiently for perfection.

Black tea is the fully oxidized leaf of Camellia sinensis and requires the most processing. The brewed liquor ranges between dark brown and deep red. Black teas offer the strongest flavors and, in some cases, the greatest astringency.

This traditional tea is named after British diplomat Earl Charles Grey, who became Prime Minister of the UK in the early 1830s. Legends have sprung up around how the well-traveled Earl may have come by the recipe for this bergomot-flavored tea, but we're just glad he passed it on to the masses.

do not buy tazo tea although a very good tea, tazo is discontinuing its line, in favor of tevana so stay away February 16, 2014
Great, not available Your stores, the supermarkets, ( Whole Foods and Vons or Ralphs , etc. ) and the hotel outlets, includingThe Starbucks Store, are constantly running low or running out of this product. Is there a procurement problem, a need for increased purchasing, or simply not enough tea ? It is a very good tea , when it is available. One of the best Earl Greys I have ever had, and I have been drinking tea worlwide for over 40 years. December 14, 2013
A very good Earl Grey This is a good tasting Earl Grey tea. More economical than the tin but stronger than most other Earl Grey brands. It is definitely a good choice for lovers of Earl Grey tea. July 13, 2013
