Recipe for great coffee

  1. Use cold, filtered water and a clean machine.
  2. Grind beans just before brewing:
    • Coarse for coffee press
    • Medium for automatic drip
  3. Measure 2 tbsp (10 g) ground coffee for every 6 fl oz (180 ml) water.

To help preserve that fresh flavor, keep this bag sealed tight in a cabinet (not in the refrigerator) and brew within a week of opening.

Each coffee requires slightly different amounts of time and temperature during the roasting process to create a cup at its peak of aroma, acidity, body and flavor. We classify our coffees in three roast profiles so you can easily find your desired flavor and intensity.

  • Blonde: Blonde-roasted coffees have a shorter roast time, lighter body and mellow flavors.
  • Medium: Medium-roasted coffees are balanced with smooth and rich flavors.
  • Dark: Dark-roasted coffees feature a fuller body and robust, bold flavors.

    Average I guess I am finding out I am preferring medium to dark roasts a little better. No complaints though. June 25, 2014
    I prefer this light roast. The darker roasts tasted burned and bitter to me. I enjoy the Willow Blend with an addition of Starbucks Mocha Powder (liquified). I grind the beans myself right before I brew my rather strong coffee. I do not add sugar to my cup--just plenty of milk or half-n-half cream. May 3, 2014
    Mild roast, but lacks coffee flavor It is OK, but I prefer the Veranda Blond Roast for the coffee bean flavor. I'm not into "Fruit and Nuts." April 24, 2014
    Delisioso We love this coffee, it's so light, it feels like you can have it right before bed. But in reality you shouldn't if you want to sleep well. It is higher in caffeine then a dark roast I couldn't believe my brother who works in Starbucks so I asked someone else at a different Starbucks and they said the same thing about it's strength. The less it's roasted the higher in caffeine it is. Huh. I hope my brother doesn't find out! March 1, 2014
