Where can I buy a new one??? I love this cup. I only drink iced coffee. It is perfect. Thin buy 20 oz. I just sip through the straw and it is just perfect. I don't know where to buy another anymore so I am treasuring this one. March 31, 2012
Loves it. I love this mug for the simple fact it's large and holds plenty of iced goodness. HOWEVER I do not like the fact that there are no replacement straws or straw dimensions (so I could at least go to the hardware store and get another length of tubing) listed. I feel super ghetto drinking it upside down through the liftable sippy-cup style straw at the top of the lid. No matter though, I'll still keep using it and hope that someone reads this and wants to send me some info on how to get new straws! :D January 30, 2012
yukon is my favorite The tumbler is my all time favorite. To bad I couldn't find any starbuck's in Tucson that carried this type. So,I had to order from the website... December 19, 2011
Straw is too short After reading all of the reviews, so many were down on this shaker because it spewed liquid. I have not had that problem, however, I only use it for drinking water. My problem is that the straw is too short. I am constantly disappointed that I cannot drink the last of my water because the straw doesn't go to the bottom. It is such a waste! I wish they would make a replacement straw that is about 1/2 inch longer. Then it would be perfect. It would also be great if they made a 24 oz size, same design but maybe fix the spewing part. December 3, 2011
Great in theory but serious design flaw! Warning! Prior to opening the spout unscrew the cap. If you are on an airplaine make certain the cup is empty. I sast quietly as the plane gained altitude until a began to feel a wet sensation from my neck to my lap. The cup slowly but spontaneously began spewing iced coffee all over me as we gained altitude. I was learned the hard way about the "fountain effect" when opening the spout. My leather purse was reuined as was my shirt. The lid needs an overpressure relief valve. Very unhappy camper! Great idea...

By lvaltte

Comments about Starbucks® Shaker , 20 fl oz:

I was so excited to get this because I loved the ability to bring along a protein drink, shake it, and drink it with a straw. I did use it for iced tea and just plain water. When I had iced tea in it and I went to drink it, while in my car (because it is a travel mug...) it squirted iced tea all over my shirt and lap. Very disturbing when I hadn't even made it to my destination yet! Then I figured it needed to stay open after it did it to me a second time. When leaving it open it somehow started leaking??? I think pressure does build and somehow it eventually forces the liquid out. I was very upset. I started just using it for water and accidentally gave it away to Goodwill. I actually didn't mean to do that, I ran out of hands to hold the bags. Now that it is gone I feel like I would be wasting money if I bought it again. I hope they figure it out and we can get a shaker in an improved model!

Is it a cup or a fountain?

By redwoody

Comments about Starbucks® Shaker , 20 fl oz:

Is this a cup or a fountain? Every time I open the top, a fountain of liquid shoots out all over me. I guess it's just poor design, but the slightest movement with the lid closed creates some kind of vacuum I guess so that when you open it it shoots out the liquid inside. Would not recommend this cup. What if I was on my way to a wedding or something and red tea spewed all over my clothes (which happened with this cup like three times before I figured out to hold it at arm's length before opening the top).

Great idea that significantly misses the mark

By LoveStarbucks

Comments about Starbucks® Shaker , 20 fl oz:

I was impressed with the concept when I saw this tumbler in the store - and bought two, one for my Starbucks-loving daughter. It has several of the right things in its design - leakproof cap, leakproof spout, solid construction, clean lines, spout cover to protect and keep the spout clean. But there are some real problems.

I recently noticed a crack in the inner liner - it's never been in hot water or the dishwasher. My daughter threw hers away when the lid broke. The items wer only a couple months old when these problems arose. I've looked for replacements, but they are not in the local stores any longer.

The product has a significant design flaw, however. The liquid can be projected from the spout when opened after sitting undisturbed for a while. Here's the reason - as the cold liquid is consumed, the airspace above it can become a propellent. The seals are so tight, that pressure builds slowly in the container when the air above the liquid warms.

The lid has a one-way air valve that is designed to let air in when the liquid is sucked out - and it is so good at sealing that it doesn't release the built-up pressure when that air warms after sitting several minutes. In fact, if you let the container sit with the spout open, it will slowly expel liquid as the air above the liquid warms.

There are three solutions to avoiding getting squirted when you open the spout. Two are things the user can do, and one requires a redesign to open the air valve just before the liquid port is opened (I hope somebody at Starbucks reads this). I have learned to shake the tumbler before opening the spout, thereby cooling the air above the liquid. You will hear additional air being drawn in when you do this - confirming that the pressure has been relieved. The other way is to open the spout with it in my mouth - tricky, but effective if you don't like the noise of shaking the tumbler.

Noisy and Mess Making Dispointment

By Vicktory

from Washington, DC

Comments about Starbucks® Shaker , 20 fl oz:

I love starbucks! Love the hot and cold lattes, teas and drinkware products. Had my shaker for 3 weeks for my cold drinks. I primarily use it to drink my iced teas during my workout where I usually keep my earphones on and my lip spout in the open position. The past week I've been using it at my desk. Now, I've never touched or tried to remove the built-in straw. I noticed it was very noisy when sipping . Considering I am in a quiet cubicle office setting, the noise is unacceptable. I've been unable to figure out where the source of the noise occurs. Then I noticed when I often open the spout after being closed for sometime, it shoots out my drink like a water hose nozzle. Its generally facing my direction, so that I end up wearing my drink on my office attire. Never use it in your car unless you want spills in your car. So, buyers beware. I will keep this noisy, mess making bottle for the gym.
