Starbucks Reserve® Zambia Peaberry Terranova Estate
These handpicked peaberries—rare, single rounded beans—represent the final coffee crop to come out of Zambia's Terranova Estate, a longtime supplier of premium arabica leaves for some of our finest blends.
Since 1986 this highly respected family estate has cultivated coffee of exceptional quality using sustainable farming practices—helping give Zambia a world presence in Africa's specialty coffee market. We proudly offer this fruity, complex culmination of all the estate has accomplished.
Of the thousands of coffees we encounter in our search for the best, only a precious few are deemed exceptional enough to become Starbucks Reserve® coffees, offered only for limited times at select stores.

This Zambia Peaberry coffee from the Terranova Estate is one of the better roasts in stores at the moment. In my opinion, the cup is more complex than the description on the bag. While the acidic citrus rings true, I was reminded most of eating S'mores by this coffee on many levels. First, and another reviewer criticized the brew for this reason, the coffee seems somewhat dry. This was the one way that the current Brazil Bourbon exceeds Zambia Peaberry. Due to this dryness, this African roast is not really a cup to savor as much as it is a cup to guzzle on the go. That's not a miserable experience though because the taste is so good, as long as you appreciate and enjoy an acidic cup of coffee. Another way it reminds me of s'mores comes in the flavor blend of chocolate and vanilla, the latter of which I perceieved as marshmallow root. The whimsical frivolity in this luxurious wake-me-up experience becomes a joy as you drink the beverage down, though I wish that the roast was less dry and slightly smoother.
Nice and smooth right out of the press, peaberrys are great
Strong, dark, intense and yet, very smooth. It will be missed.
My barista recommended this for iced coffee and it was tasty. I was suprised the beans were as big as they were. Seems like peaberry beans are usually tiny things. Anyway, good for a warm day.
Very different taste - in a good way! Give it a try.
The Zambia Peaberry reserve is such a smooth flavorful coffee. It is a pleasure from the aroma of brewing to the taste. It is a cup of coffee that you just want to hug is so so good.
The Starbucks Reserve® Zambia Peaberry Terranova Estate coffee is one delicious cup of coffee. A rich, full bodied drip brewed fresh straight from the clover machine.
I LOVE peaberry coffees - they are so smooth and this one does not disappoint. Thanks!
I pressed this coffee 4-5 times with my fellow partners between two Starbucks stores (20+ partners) and the most unanimous response to this coffee was: wow, this is STRONG. Which made me curious because that's not at all what the product descriptions imply: you've got citrus, acidic, apple, vanilla, and a cocoa mouthfeel (which would be like that sharpness of bakers chocolate along the inside of your cheeks).
What I got was a distinct peppery smell--almost like a stew or some spicy soup. It was, in almost every way, a cup of asia/pacific coffee. Pairs well with oatmeal, pumpkin loaf, everything bagels--anything with a degree of spice.
My biggest issue--and this was the case for my purchase of Sun-dried Ethiopia--was the super dry, shattered beans. I understand shipping. I understand the cold, having existed in a bag for a while. But I also understand the flavor lock system, which is supposed to preserve bean freshness while releasing a little aroma sample. If you're paying 12+ bucks for a tiny bag of coffee, it better be fresh. Especially when you're sharing it with over 20 people, all of whom KNOW coffee.
I have experimented with the Reserve blends since my discovery of them. Some of them have left me disappointed and regretful of my purchase, but this is not one of them. This is a very complex flavor. I have prepared this coffee 6 different times, and received 6 different flavors, all of them being enjoyable. I will try #7 tonight to finish off the bag.
