Starbucks Reserve® Kona Parry Estate

High upon the slopes of Mauna Loa—in the Kona region of Hawaii's Big Island—these beans take root in the rich volcanic soil under the bliss of sun-drenched mornings tempered by cloudy afternoons.

The Parry Estate, where the coffee is grown and processed, was once the royal land of King Kamehameha. And like the king's legacy, which has been carefully archived and preserved, this coffee is tended to with the utmost care to ensure its resplendent flavors.

Of the thousands of coffees we encounter in our search for the best, only a precious few are deemed exceptional enough to become Starbucks Reserve® coffees, offered only for limited times at select stores.

Tasting Notes Floral & Nutty

Region asia-pacific

Producer: The Parry Estate

Elevation: 660 meters (2,200 feet)

Coffee Variety: Typica

Processing Method: Washed

The uniqueness of the environment is what makes Kona coffee so special. Sun in the morning followed by afternoon rains produces a coffee like no other.

The Kona Parry Estate is the smoothest, need to have it more often and even available by the cup.

Amazing flavor

By Norahs

from Manhattan, KS, USA

Takes me back to the first time I drank coffee from Hawaii. The smoothness and wonderful non-bitter taste made me a spoiled coffee drinker. Now I only drink coffee from Hawaii. It has also made me very selfish because I can only buy one bag at a time so I am very stingy with my coffee and try to make it last until the next coffee is released.

Not a bad cup of coffee, just not as good as I remember it to have been.

The Kona coffee is the best, so I guess it should be the highest priced coffee. Just wish sometime it might go on sale.

Very Smooth Coffee

By KingBean7

from ATL

This was a very smooth coffee with no bitter aftertaste, no matter how strong I made it. The beans looked to be of very high quality...they were a little bigger than usual and I could tell they had been picked by hand cuz there wasn't a lot of broken pieces but whole beans. I only gave this four stars and not five because of the price...is it a great coffee? Absolutely. Could I afford to buy it all the time? I wish.

Amazing!

Was able to get a cup Clover brewed while in Seattle a couple of weeks ago and it was one of the best cups of coffee I have ever had! I waited in line for 15 minutes the next day just to get another cup! I was blown away how smooth it was and the dark flavors...

I honestly don't feel it was worth the money, but then I don't consider my self an expert, just a coffee drinker.

I suppose the rarity is where it grows, in my honest opinion it certainly isn't worth the money. I don't feel foolish. The greatest regret would be not knowing.
