The Ka'u region, which borders Kona on the island of Hawaii, has been recognized for its award-winning coffee and is home to these beans, cultivated on the slopes of Mauna Loa.
The delicate tropical flavors captivated our buyers beyond expectation, leaving no doubt that we had to share this rare sip. Handpicked and processed in small batches by family farmers devoted to Hawaiian tradition, this coffee is the latest wonder from paradise.
This special Starbucks Reserve® coffee is in very limited supply and only available at select stores.

Starbucks has the capita to quality control these wonderful beans from this tiny region in Kona. Of the several farms, this offering is amongst my top 3. In regular drip, the coffee is good, but if you want to treat yourself and do it right, French press attention is warranted. I use 2 level table spoons per 12 ounce cup with a half teaspoon of sugar to really bring out the flavor. Get a couple of bags if you can; these are a tough find.
This is definitely a coffee to be used on a special occasions. As it is just Valentine's Day, it was a perfect choice.
I like a mild coffee and this coffee is delicious. My husband and I drank the entire bag in one weekend.
This coffee is better than most Kona's. The price is comparable, but this coffee is more consistant than most coffee people sell as kona.
Nice nutty mellow flavor, reminds me of areally nice Kenyan AA.
I absolutely love this coffee! It reminds me of sipping Kona coffee in Hawaii. Great quality. Keep coming back for more!
sweet, but not too much and only a slight taste of coconut. smooth and as easily drinkable in the afternoon as the morning.
Certainly not worth the thing the writing guidelines suggest I refrain from mentioning.
I was really looking forward to a cup of Hawaii Ka'u-- but it was disappointing. Upon opening the bag, about 25% of the beans were crushed and brittle. The coffee that wasn't damaged was lackluster. For $50 a Pound, I was expecting a great Hawaiian coffee-- I've had several different ones over the years and this particular coffee was nowhere near justifying the price point. I will not buy this coffee ever again, nor will I venture back to Starbucks for their Reserve Coffee-- especially since the beans didn't even arrive in good condition. I mean, really?
I made this using my cold press and it was/is really smooth and fragrant I will be buying lots more, there is a good article in the Jan sunset mag about Kau coffee growers...
As soon as you open the bag, you can smell the amazing aroma of this coffee. When you take a sip, great flavours for a one of a kind experience. You have to try it at least once, but it will not stop at just 1 cup!
