Starbucks Reserve® Fair Trade Tanzania Southern Highlands is a product of The Association of Kilimanjaro Specialty Growers. This organization provides marketing and export services to its members and also plays a vital role in helping its members obtain financing to improve the quality of their coffee. The association currently represents about 12,000 smallholder farmers.

This wonderful coffee hails from the southern part of Tanzania--the areas of Mbeya and Ruvuma. Most of our purchases from Tanzania come from the south due to the high elevation and prime growing conditions.

Of the thousands of coffees we encounter in our search for the best, only a precious few are deemed exceptional enough to become Starbucks Reserve® coffees, offered only for limited times at select stores.

Excellent coffee, would reccommend iced from the clover. I had this coffee for the first time at my local Clover store. I absolutely fell in love with the berry and citrus notes that were present in the coffee. This is the coffee that I am choosing for my Coffee Master certification next week! October 9, 2013
Chocolate flavor, citrus flavor and smooth I use a coffee maker that grinds the coffee just before it brews the pot. I then immediately refrigerate the pot. This method preserves the flavor. I usually drink my coffee ice cold after it has been in the freezer for about 30 minutes. This coffee is very smooth and has notes of chocolate and citrus. I highly recommend this coffee. (My favorite Starbucks coffees are Verona, Komodo, and Sumatra--in that order.) September 9, 2013
Excellent iced...meh hot This coffee is so, so great iced, if you can get one on a Clover, do it over ice, the blackberry notes (which I find the best part of this cup) are there with vigor. It has great, snappy acidity that merges well with the blackberry undertones which come at the end of the palette for a refreshing finish. I have tried it hot as well and it was meh. It had a good mouthfeel overall and the depth was nice but this coffee is hands down better iced as there is a solidity in how the flavors compliment each other. This wasn't as prevalent to me when it was served hot. August 24, 2013
Good coffee I tried some Tanzanian coffee from Starbucks a few years ago and loved it, so I thought I would give this one a try. It's not as good as the aforementioned coffee — which was among the best coffee I've ever tasted — but it's good. However, I wouldn't say it's better than Starbucks House blend, which is my standby.
