I had this coffee for the first time at my local Clover store. I absolutely fell in love with the berry and citrus notes that were present in the coffee. This is the coffee that I am choosing for my Coffee Master certification next week!
I use a coffee maker that grinds the coffee just before it brews the pot. I then immediately refrigerate the pot. This method preserves the flavor. I usually drink my coffee ice cold after it has been in the freezer for about 30 minutes.
This coffee is very smooth and has notes of chocolate and citrus. I highly recommend this coffee. (My favorite Starbucks coffees are Verona, Komodo, and Sumatra--in that order.)
This coffee is so, so great iced, if you can get one on a Clover, do it over ice, the blackberry notes (which I find the best part of this cup) are there with vigor. It has great, snappy acidity that merges well with the blackberry undertones which come at the end of the palette for a refreshing finish. I have tried it hot as well and it was meh. It had a good mouthfeel overall and the depth was nice but this coffee is hands down better iced as there is a solidity in how the flavors compliment each other. This wasn't as prevalent to me when it was served hot.
I tried some Tanzanian coffee from Starbucks a few years ago and loved it, so I thought I would give this one a try.
It's not as good as the aforementioned coffee — which was among the best coffee I've ever tasted — but it's good. However, I wouldn't say it's better than Starbucks House blend, which is my standby.
One of the best tasting coffees I've had in a long time.
Tanzania is one of those coffees that is like a good idea made even better; the taste of this coffee reminds me a lot of the bright, citrusy notes of Kenya - which I love - but is paired with a slightly darker fruity note of blackberry which really takes this coffee to the next level. You can literally smell the fruitiness and citrusy notes while brewing. And while it is delicious hot, Tanzania makes an even better iced coffee; the complexity of this cup is especially refreshing when brewed over ice, and is flavorful enough to not need any cream or sugar. Definitely a must-try, especially if you need a refreshing iced coffee for the summer.
I have tried 4 of the reserve coffees at the Starbucks in Whitefish Bay, WI and have found this to hit my taste buds in the right way! I even enjoyed one today and got one for a co-worker to try too.
