Great Coffee I was excited to try this coffee becuase of Brazil's crop loss this year, the World Cup being in Brazil, and becuase I love coffee that pairs well with chocolate. I was not disappointed after I brewed this coffee with a French Press, and paired it with a brownie. The sweetness from the brownie brought out the plum flavor in this coffee that was exciting and extremely enjoyable. This is a luxurious treat and a must have for lovers of the bean. No taste I will never buy another southamerican coffee again. I am used to the coffee we make in Eurupe and has always a part of some African beans. This one had no taste, no smell. Going back for Ethiopia, Kenya or Tika, Tika. Those are the best Starbucks carries. August 29, 2014
One of my favorites I have tried all the reserve coffees and this is one of my favorites. It is processed using the Natural method which is unusual for the region and makes for a great cup. Great plum aroma and a very smooth chocolate finish. Already ordered my third bag. July 11, 2014
Apparently popular roast, though ~not~ MY favorite one Every comment that praises the smooth textures and finish of the coffee turns out correct and appropriate. The Brazil Bourbon from the Rio Verde farm lives up to the praise easily, allowing constant enjoyment from start to finish. My mouth actually almost feels clean now that the cup is coming to an end. However, and I apologize for raining on anybody's parade, this coffee does not live up to the exceptional flavors that a coffee enthusiast can relish in when drinking other Reserve roasts. At best, the Brazil Bourbon is blasé; at worst, it comes off as weak home-brewed coffee that you can make from instant grounds out of a can. Interestingly, though my palette detected no hints of plum or dark chocolate, other flavors did seem to arise, such as a very faint lemony mint. I wouldn't go out of my way for this coffee, as I would with other Reserves in spite of the clean, creamy, smooth finish because exceptional taste doesn't come across. July 7, 2014
Rich and smooth coffee This reserve is a must have for the coffee lover who enjoys rich and smooth yet delicately sweet coffee. The body and acidity make this coffee a luxurious treat! Made from the most delicate type of coffee tree, the bourbon tree requires more fertilizing and pruning than any other making this coffee a rare gem and a must have for Starbucks Coffee Masters (which I am)!
