Starbucks Reserve® Brazil Bourbon Rio Verde
Extraordinary coffee comes from extraordinary environments, and this rare offering comes from the century-old Rio Verde farm—a veritable paradise of mountains and waterfalls, native forests and ocean breezes.
A phenomenal microclimate, combined with the pulped natural processing method, creates this remarkable coffee. Beautifully balanced and with flavor every bit as lush as its lineage, it is a fitting tribute to a coffee paradise.
Of the thousands of coffees we encounter in our search for the best, only a precious few are deemed exceptional enough to become Starbucks Reserve® coffees, offered only for limited times at select stores.

I was excited to try this coffee becuase of Brazil's crop loss this year, the World Cup being in Brazil, and becuase I love coffee that pairs well with chocolate. I was not disappointed after I brewed this coffee with a French Press, and paired it with a brownie. The sweetness from the brownie brought out the plum flavor in this coffee that was exciting and extremely enjoyable. This is a luxurious treat and a must have for lovers of the bean.
I will never buy another southamerican coffee again. I am used to the coffee we make in Eurupe and has always a part of some African beans. This one had no taste, no smell. Going back for Ethiopia, Kenya or Tika, Tika. Those are the best Starbucks carries.
I have tried all the reserve coffees and this is one of my favorites. It is processed using the Natural method which is unusual for the region and makes for a great cup. Great plum aroma and a very smooth chocolate finish. Already ordered my third bag.
Every comment that praises the smooth textures and finish of the coffee turns out correct and appropriate. The Brazil Bourbon from the Rio Verde farm lives up to the praise easily, allowing constant enjoyment from start to finish. My mouth actually almost feels clean now that the cup is coming to an end. However, and I apologize for raining on anybody's parade, this coffee does not live up to the exceptional flavors that a coffee enthusiast can relish in when drinking other Reserve roasts. At best, the Brazil Bourbon is blasé; at worst, it comes off as weak home-brewed coffee that you can make from instant grounds out of a can. Interestingly, though my palette detected no hints of plum or dark chocolate, other flavors did seem to arise, such as a very faint lemony mint. I wouldn't go out of my way for this coffee, as I would with other Reserves in spite of the clean, creamy, smooth finish because exceptional taste doesn't come across.
This reserve is a must have for the coffee lover who enjoys rich and smooth yet delicately sweet coffee. The body and acidity make this coffee a luxurious treat! Made from the most delicate type of coffee tree, the bourbon tree requires more fertilizing and pruning than any other making this coffee a rare gem and a must have for Starbucks Coffee Masters (which I am)!
This stuff has quickly become my very favorite Starbuck's Reserve Coffee. It is a shame this Brazil Bourbon coffee won't be available all year long.
This is a lovely coffee with a full flavor that ends very smooth. No odd after tastes. After reading the information on this I made chocolate covered sugar plums to pair with it. It was the perfect match. Everyone that tried it with me was delighted and was upset when we ran out. I would highly recommend this roast. As far as the delivery and website go, it was easy to navigate and find what I wanted. I received my item very quickly and without any issues. I am very pleased.
Not the best -- simply because I'm more into bold/ dark roasted coffees .. this seems to be a light roast, and it's not stated in the package (or did I just missed it?)
Today was the first time I tried this product, the coffee is exceptionally smooth, the taste is not over powering and is very enjoyable. I highly recommend this coffee to anyone who loves the taste of great coffee.
Having been spoiled by the sun-dried coffees, I was hoping for more of the fruity taste associated with them. However, any disappointment on my part was overshadowed by the delightful taste and feel of this Brazillian coffee. Truly wonderful.
