Love the look and feel of the cup, but the straw gives a horrible metallic taste and ruins the coffee do I fix this?

Great cup, straw has rusty taste over time

By Plastic Free

from Boston, MA

LOVE this cup and it feels great not using plastic. The one complaint I have with this cup, and I have 3 of these, is that if don't use it for few days and there is liquid in the cup during that time the straw takes on a rusty taste. It's actually happening to me today and I can't get the taste out of my mouth. I came here to see if anyone else had the issue. The cup is fine, I can drink coffee directly out of it and it's great but the straw tastes rusty, not metallic, rusty. Not sure what it is but I'm order some backup straws in case this happens again.

Such a COOL cup

By Kraley

from Guatemala

I have the green version of this cup and I love it. The metal straw does take some getting used to, but man does it make your drink refreshing and cold when you drink it. My drinks seem a lot colder in this cup. No sweating, no chipped teeth, my kids can't break the top nor the straw. I love mine.

I love this tumbler! It keeps my ices via cold for hours. I also love the straw, it is much easier to rinse clean than the plastic ones.

Bought this cup to take to work daily. After breaking numerous plastic cups (and straws) I absolutely love the stainless cup and straw. Keeps drinks very cold, no sweaty outside, and durable! Love it, love it! Starbucks...don't change a thing about this cup!!!!
You might put them on sale, I could use a second one !

How are these people banging teeth on straw?

By InMyOpinionSlowDownStup

from NorCal, USA

I really like the style & function of this stainless steel mug. It really does keep cold & hot drinks at a desirable temp! I (personally) haven't had ant problems with the lid or the stainless steel straw...perhps, some of the customers got a "defective" lid. As far as the "hard" straw goes... I've NEVER bumped my teeth on it. I don't understand "how" these folks are sipping on the straw and banging their teeth with it? Perhaps, my 5 year old niece might do some banging with the straw, but a big 'olé adult should know how to use a straw!lol

Just switch the straw! ;)

By Destini175

from California

This cup is so great for keeping drinks cold for hours! The one thing that I don't care for is the metallic taste, but I switched to a plastic straw from one of my other Starbucks cold cups, and it works perfectly! The lid can be testy. It may spin several times, like it won't close completely, but it will. I've owned this cup for several months now, and it still works great.

Chipped my tooth on the metal straw

from Kansas City, MO

While I love the look of this cup set and the fact that it does work really well at keeping your iced beverages cold I can't suggest buying it because I have chipped my tooth on the metal straw. Bumping a hard plastic straw against your teeth isn't usually hurtful but this metal straw really is a bad choice.
