For Best Brewing

  1. Use one heaping teaspoon of loose leaves per 8 fl oz of 215° water.
  2. Let it steep for 5 minutes. Wait patiently for perfection.

The liquor of a green tea is typically a green or yellow color, and flavors range from toasty, grassy (pan-fired teas) to fresh and streamed greens (steamed teas) with mild astringency.

The flowers, seeds, stems, young leaves and roots of the lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) are edible and used in cuisines throughout Asia.

There are times when it’s best to silence that pesky inner critic, dismiss the Platonic ideal of perfection and stop to smell the lotus flowers. Invoke a few moments of reverie with this delicate decaffeinated Chinese green tea infused with cucumber and the gorgeous essence of (almost) perfectly formed lotus flowers.

Good late afternoon tea I enjoy this tea for late afternoon when I relax for a decaf free evening. January 14, 2014
Lotus Blossom This tea makes me think of spring and gardening. It has a light floral flavor with a lovely green, earthy taste. December 22, 2013
Smells good It smells like a fresh bloomed lotus. I didn't notice that it is caffeine free but that doesn't matter much to me. The taste of flower seems to be stronger than green tea, and sometimes I add a little pure green tea leaves to enhance its flavor. Anyway I like it. November 5, 2013
