This unique coffee’s bright and juicy flavors become more pronounced as it cools.

Kenya's high altitudes, ideal climate and strong traditions have helped put premium Kenyan coffees like this one among the world's most treasured. And as it did when we introduced it in 1971, Kenya continues to astound our expert tasters and customers alike with flavors not commonly ascribed to coffee: juicy acidity, low wine notes and fruity flavors that intensify as the coffee cools. For this reason, Kenya is an important ingredient in our iced-coffee blends. Enjoy it brewed cold or double strength, then served over ice.

If you like our Kenya coffee, try Starbucks Kati Kati Blend, a blend of African coffees from Kenya and Ethiopia, also delicious both hot or iced.

Recipe for great coffee

  1. Use cold, filtered water and a clean machine.
  2. Grind beans just before brewing:
    • Coarse for coffee press
    • Medium for automatic drip
  3. Measure 2 tbsp (10 g) ground coffee for every 6 fl oz (180 ml) water.

To brew iced coffee:

  • Brew double strength—use the same amount of coffee for a full pot but with half the water.
    • Measure 2 tbsp (10 g) ground coffee for every 3 fl oz (90 ml) water.
    • After brewing, slowly pour the coffee into a pitcher filled with ice. Serve fresh over ice.

To help preserve that fresh flavor, keep this bag sealed tight in a cabinet (not in the refrigerator) and brew within a week of opening.

Each coffee requires slightly different amounts of time and temperature during the roasting process to create a cup at its peak of aroma, acidity, body and flavor. We classify our coffees in three roast profiles so you can easily find your desired flavor and intensity.

  • Blonde: Blonde-roasted coffees have a shorter roast time, lighter body and mellow flavors.
  • Medium: Medium-roasted coffees are balanced with smooth and rich flavors.
  • Dark: Dark-roasted coffees feature a fuller body and robust, bold flavors.

Comments about Starbucks Kenya, Whole Bean:

I received this from a church member as a gift because my name is Kenya (lol). It has a very unique taste and is smooth and fruity to the point where sugar and cream is not needed. I grind the coffee daily for a regular pot and brew. For some reason it has more of a mood or energy kick than other coffees. I will be purchasing this from now on.

I love Kenya Coffee

By Coffee Snob

from Eugene, Oregon

Comments about Starbucks Kenya, Whole Bean:

My all time favorite coffee is Starbuck's Kenya Coffee. I drink it everyday- even on vacations- I take it with me. I just wish the website sold ground beans as well. The Starbucks store near me will ground them for free, but it is inconvenient for me to go there all the time.

Kenya Coffee is the Best

By Enid

from Eugene, Oregon

Comments about Starbucks Kenya, Whole Bean:

I have been drinking Kenya Coffee for years. It is the best coffee ever. I just wish your website offered it in ground beans as well as whole beans. Now I have to take it to my local store, and see if they will grind it for me.

Comments about Starbucks Kenya, Whole Bean:

good stuff....we mix it 50/50 with Sumatra for blend that is rich, full, excellent flavor and a high level of caffine...something that is needed when you work emergency med. and emergent services...just starts you off right, in a good mood with just the right buzz

I can't even begin...

By Patricia the coffee snob

from Sylva, NC

Comments about Starbucks Kenya, Whole Bean:

to describe this product, although it was better than the Ethiopia coffee,it was like someone spiked my coffee with orange juice! What is up with that? If I had wanted OJ, I would have poured some, but NO I wanted coffee, my mistake was not just buying the Sumatra and forgetting this whole "try something new" thing my friend Kelly keeps pushing on me! Kelly, I am blaming you for this fiasco! Curse you Kelly!

Delicious

By KatieNYC

from Brooklyn, NY

Comments about Starbucks Kenya, Whole Bean:

I didn't have the utmost faith because I'm not the biggest fan of Starbucks in-store - but man, this coffee is GREAT. I mean, it's smooth, delicious, medium, with a great level of caffeine. Will definitely rebuy. More single origins!!
