Kenya

Kenya's high altitudes, ideal climate and strong traditions have helped put premium Kenyan coffees like this one among the world's most treasured. And as it did when we introduced it in 1971, Kenya continues to astound our expert tasters and customers alike with flavors not commonly ascribed to coffee. Bright with a juicy acidity, low wine notes and fruity flavors—ranging from black currant and blackberry to tart grapefruit—that become more pronounced as the coffee cools, Kenya is delicious served over ice and an important ingredient in our iced-coffee blends.

Recipe for great coffee

  1. Use cold, filtered water and a clean machine.
  2. Grind beans just before brewing:
    • Coarse for coffee press
    • Medium for automatic drip
  3. Measure 2 tbsp (10 g) ground coffee for every 6 fl oz (180 ml) water.

To help preserve that fresh flavor, keep this bag sealed tight in a cabinet (not in the refrigerator) and brew within a week of opening.

Each coffee requires slightly different amounts of time and temperature during the roasting process to create a cup at its peak of aroma, acidity, body and flavor. We classify our coffees in three roast profiles so you can easily find your desired flavor and intensity.

  • Blonde: Blonde-roasted coffees have a shorter roast time, lighter body and mellow flavors.
  • Medium: Medium-roasted coffees are balanced with smooth and rich flavors.
  • Dark: Dark-roasted coffees feature a fuller body and robust, bold flavors.

Starbuck Kenya is simply the best

By Frenchie

from Elmira, NY

Comments about Starbucks Kenya:

I tried Kenya coffee from other suppliers but keep coming back to Starbuck because it is the best in my opinion. The flowery hints are wonderful and give the coffee a very smooth flavor. No down side if for its price which keeps me down to one cup a day. A shame for it is so good.

an incomparable coffee.

By Thinman

from Lexington

Comments about Starbucks Kenya:

Have been enjoying it exclusively, where ever, possible, for more than 30 years. Traveled and worked in more than 90 countries so have drunk most of the world's finest. Owned a gourmet coffee shop in the mid 90s and tried every Kenya available for my shop, but always used Starbuck's Kenya at home. We are devoted to Starbuck's Kenya - we have found no coffee that comes close.

Smooth, full bodied, never bitter

By Coffee Snob

from Montpelier Ohio

Comments about Starbucks Kenya:

Kenya is a smooth full bodied coffee and never bitter. I love to drink anytime of the day. It doesn't have a bitter or acidic flavor to it. I enjoy a strong cup of coffee, but so many are bitter. Starbucks Kenya is so smooth and is consistent from bag to bag.

By Jo

Comments about Starbucks Kenya:

I always just use as fresh drip, that's the only way I drink coffee and nothing in my coffee, I have always drank it that way and after 66 years I'm not going to change. I now only drink your product. spoiled YES and proud of it!

Starbucks Kenya all day long.

By Country Coffee Drinker

from Forbes, MN

Comments about Starbucks Kenya:

I grind Starbucks Kenya many times a day. We are big coffee drinkers. I used to have Starbucks Sumatra for mornings, but now I just drink Kenya all day.
I used a different brand of Kenya coffee bean for a year, and went back to Starbucks Kenya in my burr grinder as Starbucks Kenya has less static that would spew coffee grounds.
Starbucks subscription service is a great value, and very handy.
