Nearly a mile above the sea and framed by three iconic volcanoes, Guatemala's lush Antigua Valley is a coffee-growing paradise. We selected exquisite beans, blending and balancing floral aromas with hints of lemon and a lingering cocoa finish. The incredible depth of this coffee complements rich chocolate, buttery caramel, apples and oranges, even artisan cheeses. A coffee that lives up to its name—Casi Cielo, Spanish for "almost heaven."

Recipe for great coffee

  1. Grind beans just before brewing for the freshest taste. Coarse for coffee press, medium for automatic drip.
  2. Use 2 Tbsp (10 g) ground coffee for every 6 fl oz (180 ml) of cold, filtered water.
  3. To ensure freshness, brew within a week of opening and keep sealed tight in a cabinet (not the refrigerator).

Each coffee requires slightly different amounts of time and temperature during the roasting process to create a cup at its peak of aroma, acidity, body and flavor. We classify our coffees in three roast profiles so you can easily find your desired flavor and intensity.

  • Blonde: Blonde-roasted coffees have a shorter roast time, lighter body and mellow flavors.
  • Medium: Medium-roasted coffees are balanced with smooth and rich flavors.
  • Dark: Dark-roasted coffees feature a fuller body and robust, bold flavors.

On a whim I'm not a coffee connoisseur or expert but my pallet knows good flavor when it hits. I have loved coffee for as long as I can remember and the most important test is the aroma when the bag is first opened. the aroma IS the flavor. Amazing Flavor I am a "coffee with my sugar" girl. But they gave us a sample of this at my Starbucks today. All I added to this was a small amount of half and half and it was amazing! No bitter aftertaste! Truly wonderful! Can't wait to buy a bag! January 29, 2015
My favorite! There's a serious shortage of the delicious Casi Cielo. The coffee is available for a very short amount of time- and the local stores in the Boston area don't get small shipments. When the coffee arrives in the stores, customers buy in very large quantities because they know it sells out as soon as it it hits the shelves. I have go to 4 locations in the same day- in order to purchase 25 boxes of K-cups to last me through most of the year. Please send the stores more shipments! November 8, 2014
Best Ever ~ Wish For Decaf I look forward to Casi Cielo Season every year. It is the absolute best coffee ever produced. I will buy as many as I can stock up on. My only wish is that I could drink it all DAY into the EVENING; however I would never sleep due to the caffeine. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE offer this in Decaf AND make it an all year long product. BEST. COFFEE. EVER!!! Being part-Guatemalan myself, I'm usually skeptical about Guatemalan coffee sold in the U.S. Until you've tried it straight from the country, everything else tastes like it's "Guatemalan-flavored." Haven't been a big fan of the Guatemala Antigua blend, but when I first tried Casi Cielo I was in love!! The taste is exceptional -- it's not too bitter, it has a robust flavor without being too bold or too dark. I make sure to get a bag or two whenever it's in stock. Seriously, best Starbucks blend I've ever had! It's actually the ONLY Starbucks blend I love! September 5, 2014
