Guatemala Antigua

The Antigua Valley of Guatemala is treasured for its 100-year-old farms, nutrient-rich volcanic soil and its coffee, which is the touchstone of quality. Farmers take enormous pride in traditions they've passed on for generations. As a result, the coffee you experience is rich and multidimensional, with a flavor that's consistent, cup after cup—lemon, chocolate and soft spice notes with an elegant mouthfeel unique to this region. It's why we loved this coffee back in '71, and why we love it today.

A Better Cup

We're committed to ethically sourcing and roasting the highest-quality arabica coffee in the world. When we buy coffee this way, it fosters a better future for farmers, and a more stable climate for the planet. It also helps create a long-term supply of the high-quality beans we've been carefully blending, roasting and packing fresh for more than 40 years.

Recipe for great coffee

  1. Use cold, filtered water and a clean machine.
  2. Grind beans just before brewing:
    • Coarse for coffee press
    • Medium for automatic drip
  3. Measure 2 tbsp (10 g) ground coffee for every 6 fl oz (180 ml) water.

To help preserve that fresh flavor, keep this bag sealed tight in a cabinet (not in the refrigerator) and brew within a week of opening.

Each coffee requires slightly different amounts of time and temperature during the roasting process to create a cup at its peak of aroma, acidity, body and flavor. We classify our coffees in three roast profiles so you can easily find your desired flavor and intensity.

  • Blonde: Blonde-roasted coffees have a shorter roast time, lighter body and mellow flavors.
  • Medium: Medium-roasted coffees are balanced with smooth and rich flavors.
  • Dark: Dark-roasted coffees feature a fuller body and robust, bold flavors.

Tasty Stuff This is some good coffee....More of a evening blend...Nice after dinner... October 23, 2014
I'm ruined Ny aunt gave me a bag of this & I am ruined . The rest of the coffees just don't do it for me anymore, I must have this coffee whenever I want to enjoy a cup, I love the hint of cocoa that linger with every sip. Please don't ever stop making this brand! October 13, 2014
Not the flavor I know from past whole bean orders I ordered several pounds of Guatemala whole bean. I have only opened and used one of the bags so far. My wife and I didn't recognize this coffee as like our past orders of Guatemala from Starbucks. There isn't anything distinct about this batch of Guatemalan coffee like there should be or like we have experienced with it in the past with Starbucks orders of Guatemalan. August 19, 2014
uniquely great tasting coffee Antigua has been a good alternative to our favorite Organic shade grown Mexico. August 15, 2014
Our favorite morning coffee! I hope Starbucks never stops offering this coffee. I am a lifelong customer and have tried so many different types of beans. While its nice to switch it up for occasional variety, I always come back to Guatemala Antigua. I buy at least a pound every week, sometimes more depending on how many are in our house that week. Please please please don't stop making this coffee! August 13, 2014
