GREEN TEA, PUFFED BROWN RICE.

  • Product Details

With humble beginnings as “the people’s tea,” Genmaicha means “brown rice tea,” as it is composed of Sencha combined with roasted and occasionally popped brown rice (genmai). This delightful detail earned this tea its other nickname, “popcorn tea.” The rice adds a slightly nutty taste to the creamy cereal notes of this mild cup. The drink of the common man is now fashionable for all classes to enjoy and is one of the most popular Japanese teas worldwide.

Genmaicha This is the most unique tasting tea! It is kind of nutty and fresh. Very wonderful! December 22, 2013
Good but nutty The taste is very subtle, and has a nutty aroma as well as after taste. While I enjoyed it, nutty isn't my cup of tea! If it is yours, you'll be in for a treat. Beware not to over steep, it's a very light yellow! December 17, 2013
Good Green Tea Balance Often I find Genmaicha a little short on the green tea side and strong on the grain side, but this one has an excellent balance for those that enjoy green tea (Sencha). For those who enjoy a grainier (more traditional) taste this may not meet your needs. I find it an acceptable substitute for sencha. November 7, 2013
smooth and nutty excellent green tea with a smooth and nutty taste that is so relaxing October 3, 2013
