For Best Brewing

  1. Use one heaping teaspoon of loose leaves per 8 fl oz of 215° water.
  2. Let it steep for 5 minutes. Wait patiently for perfection.

Black tea is the fully oxidized leaf of Camellia sinensis and requires the most processing. The brewed liquor ranges between dark brown and deep red. Black teas offer the strongest flavors and, in some cases, the greatest astringency.

While only three origin countries contribute to this blend, Tazo® Awake™ contains teas from as many as 15 different tea gardens within these countries.

Fall asleep with this so called "Awake" tea I have been a daily drinker of the true Awake tea for many years. It is my absolute favorite tea, until now. This so called Awake "English Breakfast" tea is bland, dull, boring and truly disappointing. I loved the true Awake tea and now only have a memory of it's bold, smooth, unique and wonderful full flavor. I have moved on to other brands of a bold flavorful tea, of which there are many. Let me know when the true Awake tea returns because when it does, I will. April 24, 2014
I miss the old Awake This is a poor substitute for what used to be a truly wonderful tea - Tazo Awake March 7, 2014
Sleepy compared to Awake While this tea is being marketed in stores as "Awake English Breakfast" it's actually not the same tea that Awake was. The taste is kind of flat and dull, and it seems like the caffeine content is lower. While it's a decent enough tea, it's is a poor substitute for someone who loved and consumed Awake for years. I'm also pretty unhappy with the new pricing. 8oz bags are no longer available, and 2oz bags cost what 4oz used to. Double the price for half the flavor. I hope Starbucks can restore what once was an excellent tea at a fair price. January 30, 2014
Not Awake I was hoping that my previous order of Awake black tea had been a mistake... We've been drinking awake for quite some time and the last time I ordered it the taste was off. I decided to try it again and it's just not as good anymore! Bring back the old Awake please. December 23, 2013
