The mirror polish gives this stainless steel mug its classic look.
But where this coffee mug really shines is in its features: a wide base and no-slip rubber grip bottom for stability, a press-on lid with silicone seal to help prevent spills, and an ergonomic rubber handle that's great for gripping. It's ideal for enjoying coffee or tea at home or work. Starbucks name on side. Holds up to 14 fl oz. Hand wash only. Do not microwave.

For those of us who love the mug for our coffee, this is an excellent choice. When I took this mug out of the package I thought, oh just a mug. I tell you, I have never had a coffee vessel of any construction keep a cup of joe hotter for a period of time than this. Well done
Great mug. Keeps your coffee hot and the lid fits well. Easy to clean.
Keeps my coffee hot and is a sturdy container w/a rubber bottom..skidproof. Great design..just hoping the handle doesnt come off as many people here have mentioned. Im glad it keeps the coffee hot/warm as i do not like wishy washy temp coffee at all.
This has to be one of the best mugs out there as far as I am concerned They are not inexpensive but you get what you pay for. I have six two each of the offered colors. They fit my hand well no one or two finger handles here ,you can fit four fingers and the handle is rubberized no slip. The bottom of the cup is also rubberized as well. Again no slip off the table. The cup is 14oz and insulated, holds hot drinks as hot as you can get and the outside is cool as a cucumber! Could not find the last two bought in stores ordered them direct.
I've purchased a pair of these in the past for my camper, and like them so much that I decided another pair for the house was in order. The mug is comfortable to hold, and the lid holds very securely. The nice thing about this particular one is that it's not coated with any color on the exterior (aside from the logo). I've owned coated products before, and I've generally found that whatever the manufacturer uses to coat the stainless steel usually is the weak link in the design. That being said, the solid construction and performance of any of the Starbucks stainless steel line of drinking vessel is top tier. So although your favorite color coated mug won't always look new, you'll be pleased that it always performs like it is new. Unless you "have to have that decorator color", you're probably better off choosing plain stainless steel, because the color coatings all eventually wear off. Down the road at some time even if the stainless steel one doesn't look new, you can always have it buffed up and make it look new again. This is a really nice mug, and I'm looking forward to many years of great service from it.
My husband has recently become bedfast and only has the use of one hand and arm. Since he also has tremors, a bedside table with a cup of coffee or a glass of water is difficult for him to maneuver with his shaky, 'good' hand. Hot coffee is a dangerous proposition - but he loves coffee; not only in the morning, but throughout the day. So, when I saw the desk barrel cup for sale and noted it had a secure lid, I bought it. He loves it! It keeps his coffee hot for literally hours and although it is not 'spill proof', we don't have to worry about a large amount of hot coffee spilling on him or on anything else. After his morning coffee, he drinks ice water through the day, interspersed with other cups of coffee. I've been washing out this cup and putting his water in and repeating this for more coffee. I plan to buy another cup! Thanks, Starbucks! Sonia Sergent
Keeps coffee hot, very pretty. Not too big and not too small, just right. But - it needs a leak proof lid. The size and handle make it great for carring to and from the coffee room with an arm full of paperwork, but it does sloosh and spill. A leak proof lid would make it perfect.
I was looking for a coffee mug that could compete with the tall tumblers. Found it in Starbuck's Barrel Mug. Holds about as much coffee as I care to consume at any given time, and maintains the heat. Perfect for mornings on the porch. Glad I found it, and will definitely recommend it.
Love everything about the mug except the bio mechanics of the sipping/drinking hole in the lid. At least for me, when I take a sip the inside edge of my upper lip rests right on top of the opening which allows the hot coffee to "burn" my lip. The only way to avoid the problem is to un-naturally position my lip above the opening. But this allows the coffee to "free pour" into my mouth. It is just not very bio-functional. The coffee stays hot, the balance of the bug is great, I like the aesthetics and it fits under my K cup machine. Received it as a gift so I wll keep it but I would return it if I had paid for it. A redo on the lid, maybe with a protruding spout, would make this mug my favorite.
I use it with my Keurig. Perfect size and keeps coffee hot for a long time.
