This 8-cup coffee maker by Bodum® not only brews up superb coffee the way experts recommend—using the coffee press method—it doubles as an insulated thermos, helping to keep coffee hot for up to 2 hours. The double-walled, stainless steel body is polished to a shine for an elegance to match the functional design. And the Columbia Coffee Maker is easy to use – just add fresh coarse-ground coffee to the reusable mesh filter, stir, place the lid on and brew for 3-4 minutes. Then press and enjoy. Great for home or office, this dishwasher-safe coffee press can also brew tea.

How to Prepare

To make the finest coffee, use 1 rounded tablespoon (or 1 Bodum® scoop) of coarse-ground coffee for each 4-fl oz cup of coffee, and follow these simple steps:

  1. Add fresh, coarsely ground coffee to the pot.
  2. Pour in well-temperated water (not boiling) and stir.
  3. Wait 3 – 4 minutes.
  4. Stop the brewing process by gently pressing down the plunger.

Just better. Easier and tastier than drip. Easy. Easier and better than drip. Not sure why I hadn't switched before. November 15, 2014
Attractive to use It is an attractive press and makes an adequate amount of coffee when serving. It keeps hot for about an hour, not two like one of the other reviews suggested. My disappointment was the lid does not fit very tight. My other Bodum press has a much tighter fitting lid, this just sort of sits on the top a little wobbly. Otherwise I do recommend it for a lovely cuppa. October 26, 2014
Great Coffee Press I've used this for about one month and love it! It is perfect for a person (like me) who drinks several cups of coffee in the morning. Each cup is hot and fabulous. The parts are easy to clean and seem to be well made. I'll update this if time and use prove otherwise. October 16, 2014
Lasts for years! I have owned this model for 8+ years and it has performed flawlessly with regular use. Well worth the extra money for the durability--and the heat retention is an added bonus. Highly recommended. September 13, 2014
Sturdy, well-built 1. There is no replacement for pressed coffee. It is the gold standard for how to make the best tasting coffee. 2. When you come to the conclusion you cannot live without pressed coffee and want to invest in a product that will last, this is it. I went through 3 glass presses before finally bucking up and spending the money for this one. 3. Yes it has plastic, but unlike some of the other bodum presses, it is a very thick, durable plastic that can be replaced if, by some act of stupidity, you manage to break it. 4. Join the coffee snobs, buy this press. September 11, 2014
