I didn't like it

By Bill

from Chicago

Comments about Acrylic Travel Coffee Press by Bodum®, 3.5-cup:

Two issues: 1. There's substantial "blow by" of coffee grounds into the coffee after depressing the plunger. My last few sips are always a surprise of coffee grounds in my mouth; 2. For being a double-walled thermos, it doesn't really keep the coffee any warmer than any other plastic cup.
I was spoiled by a previous Starbucks stainless steel travel mug no longer offered and this is a poor substitute.

Horrible french press

By TimW

from Conway, SC

Comments about Acrylic Travel Coffee Press by Bodum®, 3.5-cup:

I give it one star only because I couldn't choose ZERO. This press is horrible for several reasons. It does not make 15 ounces unless you want your cup FULL of grounds. That's because you need to keep the liquid at least one to one and a half inches from the top of the cup. The press seal is so flimsy that even with fewer ounces of liquid the grounds still come thru it. I even used a course grind and the seal still could not keep them out. Then with the press all the way down it keeps a couple ounces of coffee in the bottom. This product should be redesigned or discontinued. I am sending it back for a refund!!!!

Not functional

By Nels

from Santa Clarita ca

Comments about Acrylic Travel Coffee Press by Bodum®, 3.5-cup:

My daughters first question was "why is the press not all the way down?" So how will you get the full flavor of the coffee?
Also it's a little uneasy drinking coffee knowing the grounds are at the bottom of the mug.

Great option to cheap coffee while away from home

By TexasBiker

from Texas

Comments about Acrylic Travel Coffee Press by Bodum®, 3.5-cup:

I use a french press at home and wanted one for work. This is a good option for travel. It works just fine and makes about the right amount of coffee, although I pour the finished coffee into another cup. The quality is good, it seals well, works well, maintains the heat of the coffee, overall it is just fine.
I think it would be well suited for travel. I will carry it on trips with me. It seals well and fits where most travel mugs would fit.

easy coffee to go

By Cecy07

from florida

Comments about Acrylic Travel Coffee Press by Bodum®, 3.5-cup:

I read other reviews before making my purchase. I was concerned that the plunger is not too long. This does not affect the quality of the coffee made in this device. I am also happy to report, I did not experience coffee grounds leaking into my coffee. I am not sure how one would add sugar and stir it, because in order to stir you would have to remove the top and therefore the plunger would be pulled up as well. I do not take my coffee with sugar,so I don't have this problem.

A waste of money

By Mer52

from California, USA

Comments about Acrylic Travel Coffee Press by Bodum®, 3.5-cup:

Good concept, but reality is that this is just a plastic French press--does not work well as a travel cup--way too bulky. Needs to be either/or--not combined.

Cheap rubber gasket/flange

By Javelin

from Undisclosed

Comments about Acrylic Travel Coffee Press by Bodum®, 3.5-cup:

Perhaps the most important part of this press has a serious flaw. Surrounding the press plate is a rubber flange. Quality coffee presses uses the mesh screen with a spring like "spiral" fixture around the outside of the press plate to hold the screen in place.

The big problem here is the rubber flange allows large coffee grinds to pass through to your coffee you will drink, leaving lots of grit for you to chew on. The rubber flange also wears out fast and becomes even worse over time.

Spend the money on a quality portable press, or go to some place like the "Espresso Zone" online and buy yourself the correct parts to make this coffee press the way it should be.

Other than this critical flaw, everything else is great. Coffee does not leak, the cap and drinking spout cap are snug and do not leak.
