What are the coffee pods made of?
The main body of the pod is made from polypropylene and the film from polyethylene terephthalate and polypropylene carbonate. They are food grade materials.

What is the machine's energy rating? How much energy does it consume?
When in use the machines energy consumption is lower than 1.455 W/h. The exact numbers depend on what kind of mode you use and in which stage the machine is operating. As the machine does use a small amount of power in stand-by mode, we recommend, for extended periods of non-use, switching the machine off at the power plug.

Does the machine have a standby mode?
Yes, so long as the machine is switched on at the plug it will use energy (<0.5W/h). We recommend switching the machine off at the plug when not in use.
